Up to 20 images and a total of 100 MB of valid inputs are supported. Animated images, HEIC, AVIF, GIF, SVG and PDF are not supported.
Choose a format based on the image and its intended use. JPG is a widely used choice for photos, PNG can preserve transparency, and WebP can be useful for efficient image delivery on websites. Also check support in the service or application where you will use the image.
JPG is widely used for photos and other images with many colors. It does not support transparency, and re-encoding may change image quality.
PNG suits logos, icons, diagrams and screenshots where transparency matters. Files may be larger depending on the image.
WebP is an option for efficient image use on websites and blogs. It supports transparency, but check compatibility with the intended service or application.
If an application or editor cannot open WebP, or your destination does not support it, converting to JPG or PNG may help. Choose PNG if you need to retain transparency.
When converting transparent WebP or PNG images to JPG, transparent areas are filled with the selected white, black or custom background color.
Inspection, conversion, preview, ZIP creation and saving take place in your browser. Images are not uploaded to or stored on Qvernal's server, and Qvernal does not retain the conversion's working state.
Conversion uses the browser's image decoding and Canvas re-encoding. EXIF, GPS or location data, camera information, original DPI, embedded metadata and color profiles may be lost or changed. Browser color management may also cause slight color differences. Files used without conversion because the format already matches may retain their original EXIF, location, camera and other metadata.
Pixel dimensions are normally retained, but image quality and file size may change, and files can become larger. Large images or batches may increase memory use and processing time. Transparent areas in JPG use the selected background color. Animated WebP and APNG cannot be converted.
Keep important original files and check converted images before publishing, printing, submitting, distributing or replacing the originals. For general information, see our Disclaimer.
